It is to be expected that terrorists, whether in Hamas or in the
Provisional IRA, would want to impress their followers by wearing
military style uniforms, covering their faces and brandishing weapons.
That says nothing whatsoever about their competence as a fighting army
but probably attracts recruits to the cause.
