No offense, but you must be a country boy.
Any big city I have been to all across Canada has all the parking lots
marked the same as the one you illegally parked in and got dinged for.
I am a small town boy and like you didn't take the signs seriously until
the same thing happened to me. Bought something at the store, then went
across the street for something to eat. Came back, no car.
Bitch all you want, I sure did. I was wrong and sure learned my lesson.
The owners of the mall told me if they let everyone park there for free,
it would always be full and paying 'customers' who couldn't find a
parking spot would go somewhere else.
I really couldn't argue their logic.... :-(
I 'did' have the option to move out onto the street to a parking
meter....
Oh, I also managed to pay cash at the impound lot for no receipt and no
15% tax... That is a pretty common thing to do with tow trucks. Even
ones that you call and are radio equipped will lots of times do that.
They still log the call to dispatch and say when they will be free again
at my drop point so they sure aren't scamming the money.
Making noise about boycotting a store because you screwed up, just
doesn't make much sense to me....
