Long, long ago, the bigots in the South were the Democrats - but that was
long, long ago.
If Byrd has sincerely renounced his Klan ties and has become enlightened
about race, that we are ALL human beings under the skin, then he should not
be condemned for his past.

I really am not sure whether or not he is racist, but ANY racist is NOT a
