Visit a few other newsservers. Not all (maybe not many) include
description when downloading the newsgroups list.

 AIOE: no descriptions
 Giganews: no descriptions (*)
Infoave: a few groups have descriptions
 Microsoft private: no descriptions
 Microsoft public: no descriptions
 Spamcop: most have descriptions
 Teranews: extremely few descriptions

(*) Can't be sure Giganews doesn't provide descriptions. I'm over quota
and cannot reset the newsgroups list until a month from now. I might
not have had the option to also retrieve description enabled when I last
retrieved the newsgroups list from Giganews.

Just because the NNTP client issues the "LIST NEWSGROUPS" command (RFC
2980, sec 2.1.6) doesn't mean the provider maintained the file that
provides the descriptions. Not every user (and maybe not many users)
get descriptions for the newsgroups, and of those that get descriptions
they may not have all the descriptions.
