I can think of several groups where this sort of radical proposal would
make sense...on paper. I suspect the proponent Leech is simply looking
to establish a group with which he and others can advise and redirect OT
discussions. In other words, a place for them to go. I know what it
feels like to just throw up your hands and say enough is enough.
I suspect equally he's under no illusions as to odds favoring the
ultimate failure of the idea in practice should the proposal win
approval.
I'm not familiar with rad. But the fact is OT political--unlike a troll
problem--is normally and primarily a function of many regulars accepting
and participating in the OT discussions. Short of starting a
rad.moderated, however, there is no way to prevent these regulars from
continuing to devastate a group.
All that said, if the proposal should come to a CFV, I will vote in
favor. Should it be approved, I will monitor both groups in an effort
to view this worthy experiment.
