Known differences: - Much newer hardware. - Screen not locked at the relevant point. - Networking turned off at the relevant point. (Upgrading to trixie installs a few server daemons I don't want; this was to allow me to remove them before they were exposed to the network.) - The install initially failed in update-initramfs because /boot was full; removing old kernels allowed it to finish.
