My local area seemed to be where the core of the heat was yesterday in the US   
   as noted below.     
      
   We hit 100.4 with a heat index of 126 locally at my house.   
      
   Another hot day today and the heat wave continues.  It is slightly cooler, but   
   you can't really tell.
