This message was from Daryl Stout #1 @1501000*1 to All       originally in conference Local/Arkans on TBOLT (The Thunderbolt BBS)       and was forwarded to you by DARYL STOUT        ----------------------------------------       With the severe weather potential likely across Arkansas on both       Wednesday and Thursday, I've been asked to activate "The Weather       Watch Net" sometime during the day late on Wednesday (when storms       enter the National Weather Service Little Rock, Arkansas County       Warning Area).              I used to do these all the time from my apartment, until constant       interference on the repeater, health issues, and inspection criteria       put a damper on that. Since I don't have RF equipment on hand, I       will be loaned some for the event by Arkansas Skywarn (tm).              With the potential magnitude of what this severe weather event may       entail, I would hope that management would make an exception for my       "providing communications essential to the protection of life and       property".              The net is actually a "prelude" to full activation of "Arkansas       Skywarn (tm)". But, due to ongoing renovations at the National       Weather Service in North Little Rock, I may end up doing the entire       episode from my apartment.              In Arkansas, the net will be activated on the W5DI repeater system.              A list of the repeaters is located at:              http://carenclub.com/carenrepeaters.php              For those outside of the central Arkansas area, you can LISTEN LIVE       on the internet at:              http://www.broadcastify.com/listen/feed/5167/?rl=rr              Details on Arkansas Skywarn are at:              http://www.arkskywarn.org              As it looks now, activation should take place sometime Wednesday       afternoon, and it may last well into Thursday night.              The net will be a DIRECTED Net, and all stations MUST go through       Net Control. Stations failing to comply with directions from Net       Control will be ordered off frequency...and continued failure to       comply will result in action from ARRL Official Observers, and       the FCC, for possible enforcement, due to interfering with a net.              Daryl Stout, WX1DER, Net Control       The Weather Watch Net                     Posted by VPost v1.9.130628       ---        þ OLX 1.53 þ Real Programmers Practice Safe HEX               --- Virtual Advanced Ver 2 for DOS         * ORIGIN: The Thunderbolt BBS - wx1der.dyndns.org (1:19/33)    |
