Hi Nancy,

   >> Yeah, darn it Lol.. I understand Mark's happiness with the snow, but
   >> for me, it's not the same as when I was a bit younger

   > Strange, how our excitement about things fades with age (also with
   > debilitation)... ;) I had pleasant memories about being on the ocean
   > beach and wading into the ocean... until I went to my nephew's wedding
   > on the beach, and discovered that I couldn't balance on the sand very
   > well, and that the riptide wasn't any fun any more... ;0

   I can understand that ...

   >> Yes, I've seen expectations of more snow and cold on the way this
   >> week... along with some icy conditions .. but they've been wrong
   >> before

   > And what DID you get...? We got mostly sun, with spatterings of
   > snow to wake up to on the cars almost every morning (and additional bits
   > during the day, some days)... and a record low of -8 not last night but
   > the night before... ;) But then it warmed up again... :)

Well this week was actually nice to us .. Several evenings were very
cold but we also had several days of 30+ weather.. shocking :) Yesterday and
today I believe hit almost 40F. Now, we're not out of the cold yet, but at
   least we got some respite.

   >> sense, for a house that isn't occupied... Isn't that what one does with
   >> mobile homes that are being stored for the winter...? If one can't just
   >> drain them, that is...

   >> Hmm.. not sure, but it does make sense for a dwelling that can't be
   >> 'drained' or whatever.

   > Our camp in the Adirondacks used to have running water during the
   > season... they had lines in, and would pump pond water up into the camp
   > for flushing and washing up purposes... part of the prep for winter was
   > to drain all the lines and put the pump away... then set it up again in
   > the late spring for the next season... The last year the previous owner
   > was in, she had her nephew set things up, but apparently nobody thought
   > to do the winter prep, so the lines, of course, froze... and burst...

   Oh, that's a drag..

   > Now our running water is run down to the pond and fill up some
   > buckets... ;) Someday it might get repaired... :)

ouch that sounds like some work during a vacation :)

   Take care,
   Janis
