This is shaping up to be a very interesting (to say the least) week here on   
   the east coast.     
      
   At 1:51pm today, we felt what was a 5.8 Magnitude Earthquake around 5 miles   
   from Mineral, VA.     
      
   We felt the effects all the way in northern Maryland.  My entire house was   
   shaking for around a minute.     
      
   I have enver felt an earthquake before in my life, as we just don't get ones   
   here in MD.  At least ones that are of any magnitude, but today was very   
   different.   
      
   I originally thought one of the kids was doing laundry and had put shoes or   
   boots in the dryer that was causing the shaking.  I went to check it out to   
   find both the washer and dryer turned off.  A bit of a scare at that point as   
   I wasn't sure if it was a bomb (we are not too far from a military base) or an   
   earthquake.  It wasn't the first thing that came to my mind, as we typically   
   don't get them here.   
      
   If we end up getting Hurricane Irene later this week, that has got to be   
   something unique.  An earthquake and hurricane in the same week???  It may   
   happen..
