IT's interesting, was looking like there for awhile we might get some big
ones, but so far they're heading for open water then sort of blowing
   themselves out in subtropical fashion,
at least in the Atlantic/Caribbean basin. NOte we've got
two off the pacific coast right now, one about 1k miles
south of Hawaii last i saw, and another not too far from
Manzanillo MExico. But both of those were just making
tropical storm category when I last looked, and for some
reason that part of the pacific gets a lot of those guys
that whip up a closed circulation for a day or two then blow themselves out.
I'll have to listen in on the late net of
all the cruisers doing the pacific tonight and see what
they're saying when they give local wx conditions.

Also noting the folks seem to think we could get another
spell in the jet steamer here next week. HOt again with the occasional t
storm. At least that's what local wx radio and the paper were saying this
   morning, and I don't recall
whether I saw a 10 day outlook in the weather echo this
morning, but sure there will be one by tomorrow sometime.

I've still got to run your idea by a local meteo guy who's a ham. MEt to
catch him a week ago last night at the club
meeting but he didn't make it, and unless there's something
shaking weather wise he thinks the sky warn folks might want to be aware of
he's not that active on the air.

   Regards,
              Richard
