   I had the generator under our deck in the backyard.  The (4) extension cords   
   then ran in through the basement door, which I was still able to close.  I   
   also used painter's tape to seal the areas around the door just to make sure   
   no fumes blew back in the cracks.     
      
   Worked like a champ.
