IT was. When my neighbor saw me rigging the catch system
for the output of the sump pump in preparation for
electricity he got a laugh out of it, but when I started
heating pans of water so that we could take cat baths, and
then shampooed my hair and redirected the output of the sump pump to rinse my
hair he decided that was a real idea, and
he started raiding my barrel for same purpose. I let him
use the coleman stove to heat some water for cat baths for
   him and his wife too.

RW> YEp, I'm monitoring the Salvation army ham radio network as well as
RW> usual. Nope, I don't do television of any kind, old blind man
RW> doesn't have any interest, but I'll probably listen to some radio

MR> Good for You... My Mom was Blind. I can relate. She would sit up by
MR> the tv and listen to be with the rest of the Family. But I think it
MR> was from her that I got my liking of listening rather than always
MR> watching. She loved Tapes of Old Time Radio I would collect and
MR> make for her and she loved her little scanner and listening to talk
MR> radio. We'd all laugh, her favorite show to listen to was Bruce
MR> Williams and he would always talk about Money management and
MR> investing etc. We'd all say, Hey Ma, You don't have any money why
MR> do You listen to him. She just loved it. Never invested a dime. But
MR> then again she was always going to win the lottery, but never
   MR> bought a ticket. :)

    I know people like that.

My remote truck has done audio for television, and I've
worked in that side of it, but I haven't cared to own a
television now for years. I'm so active with ham radio etc. that I don't miss
it. I listen to shortwave radio for news, as well as the am and fm bands, npr
   etc. I remember the
last television we owned back around '97 we gave to my
daughter since my grandson was doing tv withdrawal and we
had to dust the stupid thing, we never turned it on. Then
we had to hunt for the remote in boxes, we hadn't unpacked
it when we moved 6 months before then.

   Regards,
    Richard
