It looks not like we are going to       getthe slam, but the long slow torture, Just watched the news and we are       alreadygetting rain, so We are now being told that we won't actually see the       windswhich are supposed to start Monday, pull out until sometime Thursday.               > if I were midatlantic, i.e. Virginia coastal, maybe either        > side, I'd be getting ready to rock on this one. It might        > surprise me and move further north up the coastbefore it        > merges with that front and slap the bejesus out of NY state, but the way              They are warning them, but I am not sure how serious people are taking it       onthe coast.               > surprise me and move further north up the coastbefore it        > merges with that front and slap the bejesus out of NY state, but the way              I personally fear in our area the wind and the constant rain may be the       causeof downed trees, powerlines etc. Of course like for me that increases       thechances of flooding the basement. And no power is common in my area since       theIce Storm. I lose power for the minimum of 8+ hours a couple of times a       year. You would think I would be smart and save the money for a generator. But       I havenot. Trees are not stable either since the storm. I just hope things go       well, but as I said, I have a bad feeling. Best I am looking at is spending       most ofmy time trying to dry vac the basement. Worse is total loss of power in       thatcase I can do nothing until the damage is already done. I just hope the       treeshold up. Oh well I wish everyone within the path, and especially along       thecoast the best.               > I know I made my amateur meteo prediction of midatlantic        > yesterday, and so far I'm sticking to it. IT might surprise us all and        > move off, but it's that other front that might        > merge with it that's the real variable right now.              That is what they are saying. The Low pressure from the west will meet up       withit, suck it in and keep it's hold over land longer than if that low and       thehigh over the Atlantic weren't there. I just heard in background as I       wasposting this, they are saying certain places in WV may get 50 inches of       snow?Whoa!              Have a good One!       Mike       --- SBBSecho 2.12-Win32        * Origin: The Holodeck telnet://holo.homeip.net (1:261/1381)    |
