NB>> So, did you get to do the steaks outside or not...? ;)

RW> Nope, had to do 'em inside. Thought it might turn inclement, was
RW> a pretty day until toward evening, bt we had to run errands, and the
RW> wind came up a bit late yesterday afternoon. The white stuff is all
RW> gone of course, and there was sunshine and blue skies while we ran
RW> errands at least. IT gradually cooled throughout the day after
RW> midmorning though. i was out cleaning up the interior of the van,
RW> setting up Kathy's supply of to-go oxygen which had been depleted, and
RW> it was long sleeve shirt only wx. When we finally left to do errands
RW> after my radio duties I was glad I had the jacket.

Yeah, that was probably a bit cool to try to grill... and if the wind
picked up any more it might have been a bit raw...

RW> That's alright, that guy sells those steaks off a truck will find me
RW> with a partial box or one he will break up just to sell the last of a
RW> load when I've got $$$ in my pockets and I'll buy some more. I
RW> shouldn't have done it that time, but the meat supply was rather low.

Sounds like you got a reasonable deal after all, though.

RW> Had I friends that did such a thing around here I'd have
RW> bought a deer tag and let a buddy shoot another one for me
RW> and split it with him, that would have put plenty of meat
RW> for the freezer by for the winter.

Never thought of doing that. I had a friend once whose husband hunted,
and since most of the family didn't care much for venison, she gifted me
with various cuts every so often.

NB>> They tell us that we'll be getting warmer (into the 40's) temps by
NB>> the beginning of next week... we shall see. As it's December, this
NB>> gradual descent into winter is to be expected, of course... ;)

RW> YEah I'm expecting one more good one before Christmas.

I kinda like having a nice coating of snow for Christmas... maybe an
inch or so... lacy trees and bushes, elegantly dressed for the day...

RW> I'm thinking it'll hold off a few days, which I'd sure appreciate.
RW> A little rain that will just freeze after dark isnt' my idea of fun
RW> Tuesday as we need to go into the city for a Christmas dinner and
RW> meeting, and i"d rather not be on the roads when roads are at that
RW> just frozen stage where crews might not have put down the chemical.
RW> A couple of nights like that last week, a bit cool but dry, and
RW> that's fine with me right now.

Freezing rain surfaces aren't any fun at all. Snow is better than that
to drive on. And dry is better yet. :)

RW> They've already got their first frozen stuff on the ground
RW> in eastern Iowa where i grew up, Kathy's daughter fell on
RW> the ice at the car wash/quicky lube where she works
RW> Thursday. (And they wonder why I don't want to live there).

Ice isn't my cuppa, either... :)

Last forecast I saw for here has the temps getting into the 50's by the
end of the week... with rain... Just a little warm for mid-December,
   I'd say... :/

   ttyl neb

... I have seen the evidence. I want DIFFERENT evidence...
