I like those, used to have one.

Maybe. Our place in NEw ORleans (one of them) was
distributed heat and a.c. The otehrs were window units and
   space heaters.

This place, if you use the ceiling fans judiciously and
copious covers for the bed can do alright. The key ehre is
to remember to switch the ceiling fans to rotate the proper
direction twice a year, once for heating season, the other
   way for a.c.

RW>> steaks I bought a couple months ago when that salesman came to the

NB>> Without any added expense, besides... :) Don't know what your
NB>> forecast is, but for here it's supposed to be sunny and warmer...
    NB>> quite pleasant.

We ended up being unsure enough, and it was a bit chilly
iirc so we made a pot of chili instead. IN fact, some
leftover from it is going to be supper this evening.

RW> YEah even in the upper midwest where you get it, oftentimes

RW> it's the ice underfoot I don't care for, that and the cold .

NB> Ice I don't care for, but the cold I can bundle up against. :)
This is me as well, just cold I can handle if I"ve got to,
but the nasty underfoot means i don't move fast enoughto
   stay warm.

RW> But around here, no buses even, so a trip to the grocery
RW> store with Kathy's down means throw a backpack on my back
RW> and walk 2 miles, one way.

   NB> That's a bit of a trek, even in pleasant weather... :)

Yeah but it works when I have to. Scoring a newspaper if
one wasn't delivered to the door is 3/4 mile.

RW>> I dearly detest it, so much so that I"ve told family members don't even
RW>> bother to die or get married between OCtober and June, cause I won't
    RW>> be there .
NB>> Not even May? ;) Surely it's better by then... :)

RW> iT's starting to get toward acceptable, but i've seen some
RW> good ones up north even in April.

NB> They don't tend to last long by then, though. I do remember a
NB> Mother's Day snowfall... rather sad, but it really didn't stick
NB> around more than a day if that... just was not so nice to wake up
   NB> to... ;)

Yep, seen enough of those late ones. Still remember sitting out on my front
porch back in Des MOines one evening, Iirc
1982. That night my roommate hollered in at me that it was
snowing, I said "no" not calling him a liar, but he took it
that way so he threw a couple snowballs at me .

Earlier that day we'd had a tornado come across the north
side of the metro area, it was 83 degrees, etc. Then around midnight here
   came the snowstorm.

   Regards,
              Richard
