SS> Silly me. Wife and I had tickets to Phillies game at Citizen's Bank       SS> Park (home park in downtown).       SS>        SS> It was 106 - folks where dropping like flies to the heat. The medical       SS> teams where everywhere working on someone.       SS>        SS> Note to self: forgo going to games until it is cool again. We gave up       SS> after the 5th inning. I can't believe MLB lets these games continue.              Smart move to leave after the 5th inning. Heat stroke comes on fast and many       times without much warning.               On Friday, I was only out in it for the walk to and from my car to work and       for lunch. My car was reading 109 outside on part of my drive home on       Friday! I have never seen it that high before!              SS> It's nearly midnight, still 93.       SS>        SS> My wife's parents A/C died late in the afternoon - looks like the       SS> compressor start relay and/or capacitor gave up. Thankfully, a few HVAC       SS> companies are running all weekend.              Saturday night, it was 92 degrees here at 10pm. Even the nights are too hot!               A friend at work's A/C went out on Friday and hit inside house temperature       went up to 95 degrees. They had someone out late in the day to fix it. I'm       sure the A/C repair people have been very busy lately.              This heat has been very dangerous, especially for people working outside.               Stay cool!               The good news is, Monday should show a slight break in the heat. Only upper       80s for our area here in Maryland. Not really cool but considering what we       have had, I can't complain.              - Mark              --- WWIVToss v.1.50         * Origin: http://www.weather-station.org * Bel Air, MD -USA (1:261/1304.0)    |
