For more current        weather history, go to the National Climate Data Center        website at www.ncdc.noaa.gov        In 1906 The mercury soared to 106 degrees at Craftonville CA,        a November record for the U.S.        In 1959 Between Noon on the 11th and Noon on the 12th, a winter        storm buried Helena MT under 21.5 inches of snow, which        surpassed their previous 24 hour record by seven inches.        In 1968 A severe coastal storm produced high winds and record        early snows from Georgia to Maine. Winds reached 90 mph        in Massachusetts, and ten inches of snow blanketed        interior Maine.        In 1974 A great Alaska storm in the Bering Sea caused the worst        coastal flooding of memory at Nome AK with a tide of 13.2        feet. The flooding caused 12 million dollars damage,        however no lives are lost.        In 1987 Heavy snow spread across much of New England. Totals in        Massachusetts ranged up to 14 inches in Plymouth County.        The seven inch total at the Logan Airport in Boston was        their highest of record for so early in the season, and        the 9.7 inch total at Providence RI was a record for        November. Roads were clogged with traffic and made        impassable as snowplow operators were caught unprepared        for the early season snowstorm.        In 1988 Thunderstorms developing ahead of a cold front produced        severe weather in the Lower Mississippi Valley during the        afternoon and early evening hours. Thunderstorms        produced wind gusts to 80 mph at Bovina MS. Morning        thunderstorms drenched Atlanta TX with more than four        inches of rain.        In 1989 Thirty-three cities reported record high temperatures for        the date as readings soared into the 70s and 80s from the        Southern and Central Plains to the Southern and Middle        Atlantic Coast Region. The afternoon high of 80 degrees        at Scottsbluff NE was a record for November, and highs of        76 degrees at Rapid City SD and 81 degrees at Chattanooga        TN were the warmest of record for so late in the season.        In 1990 Typhoon Mike, the worst of 14 typhoons to strike the        Philippines in 1990, wrecked over 600,000 homes and        killed 436.        In 2003 (12th-13th) Deadly windstorms gusting to over 70 mph swept        across the Midwestern and Eastern U.S., knocking out power        to nearly a million customers, and bringing heavy flooding.        A motorist who drove past a roadblock was swept away by a        a creek in West Virginia...and in New York, a tree fell        onto a car, killing the driver. A Virginia teenager was        seriously injured when a tree fell on her as she waited for        a school bus. In the Watts, South Gate, and Compton        neighborhoods of Los Angeles, California, a freak storm        dropped 5 inches of rain and hail in under 2 hours. Drifts        of hail were up to 2 feet deep in places, and some vehicle        doors couldn't even be opened because of it. Near the        Detroit, Michigan Airport, a live power line fell across        Interstate 94, creating a monster traffic jam. Waves up to        16 feet were recorded on Lake Erie and Lake Ontario. In        Wooster, Ohio, seven people were injured when a tornado        damaged a Rubbermaid plant. In Loudendale, West Virginia,        water over 4 feet deep carried off a 3000 gallon kerosene        tank that was outside a store.       --- SBBSecho 3.32-Win32        * Origin: The Thunderbolt BBS - Little Rock, Arkansas (1:19/33)       SEEN-BY: 19/25 33 38 105/81 106/201 124/5016 128/187 153/7715 154/110       SEEN-BY: 218/700 226/30 227/114 229/110 206 317 426 428 470 664 700       SEEN-BY: 229/705 266/512 291/111 320/219 322/757 342/200 387/18 25       SEEN-BY: 396/45 460/58 902/26 2320/105 5020/400 5075/35       PATH: 19/33 396/45 229/426           |
