ML>AZ> BK> I will look further into the Linux solution. OTOH, Linux seems
ML>AZ> BK> to take a lot of work, and a translator to understand the
   ML>AZ> BK> instructions.

ML>AZ>I find Ubuntu quite straightforward - no 'translator' needed to
ML>AZ>install it or run it - though the user interface is quite different
ML>AZ>from Windows. (The Kbuntu variant is much more Windows-like).

ML> TW> That is not my experience. I tried a live session of Kubuntu 12.01
ML> TW> and the first what I thought would be a Simple task, Instaling the
   ML> TW> Printer, FAILED.

ML>that is completely separate from the UI experience...

True btu it is an INEXCUSABLE Glitch. Back in the old days when everyone
was marching to their own Drummer o nprinters I could see it. Just liek
the Modem problems Linux Had it was understadable. BUT in the world of
very standard printers and they camot make one plug and play. ABSOLUTLS
Idotic. But I understand as the LINUX geeks want to keep out the
   "Unwashed Ones"

Well they have been sucessful in this case.
I used to try every other year to see if they were really interested i
nmaking it in the Common Man Computer market. Obviouley ther are NOT.
ASo at 81 I suspect this is my LAST try and I wil jsut go with Windows
for the rest of my life keeping an as I want it Clone Drive set aside
in the case one of the "bugs" catches up with me
