   Thanks for the info Alan. The british colonies are better off than the   
   "indepence" of the �land Islands that was agreed on at the UN in 1921   
   when Finland was given the right to the �land Islands against the will   
   of the local people that wanted to belong to Sweden based on the culture   
   and language.   
      
   Today I wouldn't want Sweden to govern the �land Islands but work is   
   still going on to gain the area a more widespread indepence.   
      
   BTW, I don't recall what the UN was called in english in 1921 but its   
   decisions and promises are still in force and guaranteed by the signa-   
   ture countries.
