ML> JP> We can see the demise of this upstairs Air in a very close
ML> JP> future, the battery is not holding its charge very long now, it
ML> JP> does not run a full day. The user will not be bothered using it
   ML> JP> tethered to the grid !

ML>the user needs to be trained in the special care and needs of batteries... t
ML>battery is replacable, isn't it? if yes, i'd get two and swap them when the
ML>being used is completely depleted... battery conditioning is a necessary ski
ML>that all too many don't know or learn... i've seen way too many devices thro
ML>away because they didn't take care of the battery or even think to replace
ML>it... instead they'd rather spend several hundred $$$ for a new device

And the Smart move is to Never let the battery regularly get below 50%
capacity except on rare occasions if one wants maximum life for the
   battery.

Battery "Conditioning"(A complete Discharge-Recharge Cycle) as in the
NiCad battery days. In those days for critical battery operated
equipment it was recomented every 30 day for Hospitals.
That is not necessary with LiIon batteries. Adn since battery life is
rates in Complete Cycles it is a waste of battery life. Now for the
Battery operating time indicator there is a Calibration prociedure that
should be done when replacing a battery.
