CS>There's been a lot of talk and rumble about that in the Apple forums. My
CS>concern is not so much the rising cost with the higher US labor, it's
CS>the quality control I'm thinking about. The Chinese may provide cheaper
CS>labor, however, the quality of their products are actually very good.

I have been inpressed by what I hear about the Chinese dedication to
Tight Quality Control and I am sure it wil go down no matter wehere the
Mac's are built in the US. Although in al fairness the Honda plant puts
out some of the highest quality cars manfacturesd in the US the US

CS>Brand new NX and commissary finished here in Fort Worth at the Naval
CS>Base. First class. The Navy seems to know how to really spiff things up.

They recently did the NX at the 32nd Street Naval Station. It was very
nice before and it is even better now. Some years back they redid the
Commisary which was fairly old and in bad shape. They repalced it with
the Largest Commissary in the Navy, and like you said really spiffed up.

As a side note then have gone to the latest base security system. For
many years an ID check has been in effect. Now the gate guards have
a hand held wireless scanner. They scan the back of the ID card and wait
for the OK on the Scanner before letting you in.
