Do you miss the Sechelt house ?              I don't miss Sechelt, but Linda say that she does... our daughter's husband's       mother       recently retired (from near Toronto) and with both of her kids - each with a       new baby - in Vancouver, decided to move out here... selling her house didn't       give her enough $$$ to buy in Vancouver, however (and she didn't want to live       in the city anyway) so she bought in Sechelt - only a few blocks from where we       had been... so we have a place to visit with almost the same view - and none       of the responsibilities.              Linda and I are travelling for a week - hopping on a cruise ship       'repositioning' from the summer-season Vancouver-based Alaska cruises to the       California-based Mexico cruises; we get off in San Francisco, spend several       days there (we have old friends) then fly back to Vancouver - all for about       the cost of a Vancouver/San Francisco round trip plane ticket. A deal!              As 'tech gear' I'm bringing just two Android gadgets - the 7" Google Galaxy 7       tablet and a Galaxy Nexus smartphone... I'm carefully removing the CDN SIM       card from the phone before we leave port and will see about getting a low-cost       temporary one in SF... (When we were in NYC in the spring, I got a week's data       service from T-Mobile for $10). I've found that a phone is handy when       travelling - but not if you have to pay expensive roaming charges! In a pinch,       I can use Skype on either the phone or tablet from any place with WiFi.              --- Mozilla/5.0 (Macintosh; Intel Mac OS X 10.8; rv:14.0) Gecko/20120713 Thunde        * Origin: Fidonet Via Newsreader - http://www.easternstar.info (1:123/789.0)    |
