|    Start menu.    |

Good morning, Alan.               AZ> 'Classic Start Menu' is usually used (even by Microsoft) to refer to the        AZ> Win95/98 style menu instead of the WinXP default style with a front panel       that        AZ> you can pin a few favorites on plus a lower section with most-recently        AZ> used programs.               Good definition.               AZ> XP has a 'classic Start Menu' option; that was dropped in Vista and Win        AZ> 7. Now, in Win 8 there's no (Microsoft supported) Start Menu at all -        AZ> though the 'Modern Interface' tiles screen is sometimes referred to as        AZ> the Start Menu.               You know what ? I had never changed this menu as I was thoroughly satisfied       with the default. This said, as I still had this old XP box connected, I fired       it up and had a peek at this Classic menu and then decided that the default,       to me, was better. The old box was still connected as I was away for a while       and I wanted then to test Wintype on it. Fun to go back in time to XP.               I hope that Tom reads this, he has been silent for a few days.              NB: the Air user is still not watching her fingers and what they do. She had       changed the screen background unknowingly (?). It took me a while to rectify       this faux-pas but the PC experience helped me in so doing. Still, to me again,       more intuitive on my beloved machine.               $700.00 US for a share, good on them but it is not the computor market that       did this, the iPhone 5 is the culprit. ;-)              --- Mozilla/5.0 (Windows NT 6.2; WOW64; rv:15.0) Gecko/20120907 Thunderbird/15.        * Origin: Fidonet Via Newsreader - http://www.easternstar.info (1:123/789.0)    |
