   'Classic Start Menu' is usually used (even by Microsoft) to refer to the   
   Win95/98   
   style menu instead of the WinXP default style with a front panel that you can   
   pin a few favorites on plus a lower section with most-recently used programs.   
      
   XP has a 'classic Start Menu' option; that was dropped in Vista and Win 7.   
   Now, in Win 8 there's no (Microsoft supported) Start Menu at all - though the   
   'Modern Interface' tiles screen is sometimes referred to as the Start Menu.
