I see virtually no difference in performance        from Lion to Mountain Lion. To me ML is Apple's way of bringing OS X        closer in line with iOS. However, it was a no brainer upgrade costing        only $19.99.              > When I bought my iPad 2 yrs ago, I got a bluetooth keyboard with it - but       ended       > up returning the keyboard (unopened) to the store.... the virtual keyboard -       > while not as usable as a physical keyboard - was much better than I'd thought       > it would be; good enough for the light-use typing that is all I ever do on       it.       > (Other people's experience, of course, will vary - I gather that add-on       > keyboards are among the most-popular tablet additions).              I agree with that assessment. Although I'm not particularly fond of        typing anything on my iPad 3, the virtual keyboard does work. The best        feature of the iPad 3 my son sent us is the ability to setup a hot spot        to use for other devices.              We recently had an internet outage due to a Texas critter eating through        my outside cable. I had to wait 3 days for Verizon to show up and make        repairs. During that time the iPad 3 with its 4G capability       filled in nicely. But it did cost me an additional $30 for 2GB of data        from Verizon with their month to month plan.              > The result - I suspect that the Metro Start screen       > (I know that MS has dropped the name 'Metro') - like the Dock in Mac OS X -       > will be useful for folks that have a small/medium collection of programs, and       > will become less and less useful as the number of installed programs rises.              The jury is still out on Windows 8 but I have a feeling that it's        heading in the same direction that Vista went. I'm going to stick with        Windows 7 for the foreseeable future.       --- Platinum Xpress/Win/WINServer v3.0pr5        * Origin: TECHWARE BBS - Since 1995 - www.techware.dynip.com (1:102/401)    |
