BK>> HG> Such upgrade policy has been unheard of in recent years.
BK>> HG> Maybe M$ has found too many satisfied XP users unvilling to
   BK>> HG> upgrade.

BK>> I can believe that. I have not found a reason to upgrade yet.
BK>> Ok, it's not an upgrade from my point of view. If I have to buy
BK>> a new computer the new OS is not an upgrade, it's just another
   BK>> system hog.

   BK>> $120 for Win 7 was too much. I'l consider $40 for Win 8.

    EV> Bob,

EV> My first MS-DOS computer had version 5.0.

EV> I never bought any of the version 6.x's although I did find
EV> a box in a Salvation Army Thrift Store that had the CD and
    EV> Book for IBM PC-DOS 7.0 that I bought for $5.00US.

EV> My question is wasn't the various 6.x upgrades priced
    EV> around $40.00US?

I don't remember. That was so long ago... and I don't recall how
much I paid. That is, if I didn't get the disks from some
package for a computer at work we didn't upgrade. I have a
couple sets, but details are long forgotten.
