Hello BOB!              16 Jul 12 12:21, you wrote to TOM WALKER:               BK>>> Upgrade from Win 7? How about from Vista?        TW>> It will Upgrade Both Vista and Win XP               BK> Now that's a winner.        BK> If the OS is good. For $39.99 I can afford to give it a try.              Keep in mind that:              Windows 7 is based on Windows Vista..              Windows 8 is going to be borrowing alot of Windows 7 codebase..              If it ran Windows 7 or on Windows 7, it will run/do Windows 8.              The Windows 8 GUI will be as much of a departure from what you know as was       Vista from XP or 3.x to 95.              With that said..              XP to Windows 7 or Windows 8 is strictly an eligibility upgrade, what does       this mean?              You cannot do an in place upgrade from XP, meaning that when installed,       Windows 8 will be a clean install.. The installer will check for an existing       Windows XP install to verify eligibility (or ask for a windows xp install       disk), then it will install clean..              There is a way around that using Laplinks PCMover, but I dont recommend doing       that.              If you can run a virtual machine, using virtualbox etc, I recommend you try       out the consumer preview of Windows 8 and see for yourself.              ==       Ross       Fidonet Feeds Or Fidonet In Your Newsreader: http://www.easternstar.info              Might makes right because the dutch wont fight!              ...
