   	Good day, Mike.

JP>> Do a search for malware.com on Google and use it to
JP>> clean up. The clone is the answer in this case.

ML> I hit on the same answer by bashing my way through at the M/S support
ML> site. What I did was to download the M/S Support Partner Regcure product
ML> for the free 14 day test with it. It found and cleaned up the mess.
ML> Which then let me do the latest second Tuesday update for this month.
ML> After which I did a full scan with Panda. Poof! Yet another cookie
ML> monstor that was gotten rid of that way. OK, I've not done a second try
ML> at the Regcure tool yet. When I get my backup SATA plug-in dupe drive
ML> clone for this, I'll go back and see what else has surfaced in the mess.

I do not think that your problem was the same as mine, getting a solution is
paramount. I obviously got a nasty as the MS Update site was disabled until I
cloned back. This is a positive mark of a nasty. Doing a clone-back saved me a
lot of aggravation, no need to reinstall any app at all.

ML> Thanks so much for your suggestion! Amazing how nice FidoNet still is
    ML> for people. Bless you.

Vice-versa, Mike. I will only leave FIDO when my toes are pointing up. The
amount of information here, over the years, since 95 came out, was godsent for
me. I am also on W-8 and their forum also is priceless, only beta but runs
fine by me. One needs a good machine but I use it strictly as a W-7 OS, I got
rid of all the tiles as I do not have a smart phone nor a touch screen. To
   each his own !
