I'll probably stick        AA> with XP a while longer.               If you're handy with a screwdriver, they're easy to work on. It's worth        opening them up, blowing out all of the dust from the nooks and        crannies inside, replacing the fan if it's making noise, and replacing        the thermal paste on the CPU.              Parts on eBay are cheap - I replaced the fan for around $10, I've seen       keyboards for under $30, and if you want to put it back to original       condition, there are screw cover sets on eBay, so you can replace those       little adhesive covers over the visible screws.              Lenovo publishes a hardware maintenance manual for most of their systems       with the steps outlined clearly for most replacements.              Now that the BBS is running in a virtual machine, I should dust off my       T60 and make it usable as a plain ol' laptop again.                                          ... Faced with a choice, do both.       --- MultiMail/Win v0.52        * Origin: http://realitycheckbbs.org | tomorrow's retro tech (1:218/700)       SEEN-BY: 1/123 10/0 1 15/0 90/1 102/401 103/1 705 105/81 106/201 120/340       SEEN-BY: 123/131 129/305 153/7715 214/22 218/0 1 109 215 650 700 720       SEEN-BY: 218/810 820 840 850 860 870 880 900 226/30 227/114 229/110       SEEN-BY: 229/111 112 113 114 206 307 317 400 424 426 428 452 470 550       SEEN-BY: 229/664 700 266/512 282/1038 292/854 301/1 317/3 320/219       SEEN-BY: 322/757 342/200 396/45 460/58 633/280 712/848       PATH: 218/700 229/426           |
