   After I posted this request I checked my desktop which came with Windows    
   8 The recovery partition seems to be intact.   
       
   When you upgrade from Windows X to Windows 10 what is removed from the    
   disk is the Windowsold folder which allows you to revert back to the old OS.   
       
   There seems to be one heck of alot of Keiths floating around this    
   newsgroupg ;-)
