   When Apple moved to models with non-user-removable batteries a couple of years   
   ago, many screamed - but that's what allowed them to go from 4 hour battery   
   life (as on my older Macbook) to the 8-10 hours Jean and you are commenting   
   on... no need to make space for latches, etc, means room for a bigger battery   
   = longer battery life.

   There are a number of options for downloading YouTube content to standard   
   video file-formats, including the on-line keepvid.com - with that, she could   
   set up something like a DropBox account, upload the converted video clips to   
   it, and share the folder with her student. MIGHT get around the blocks.
