Ed,                     EV>Would You have an info about the F.C.C.'s provision for giving the Code       EV>Test to a handicapped person?               Offhand, I can't recall that, but there may have been one. But, as you       know, the FCC eliminated the code requirement 8 years ago.              EV>Iirc, You tried taking a Code Test, but had difficulties.               Correct. Had I filled in the blanks, I probably would've passed the       exam, but it's a moot point now.              EV>Ah!, another ROUNDTUIT to look up.               She is also an ARRL/VEC Extra Class VE, as her husband is...and IIRC,       she's business manager for Ham Test Online, while her husband manages       the website.               The funniest part wasn't that she went from Zero to Extra (passed the       Technician, General, and Extra in one sitting), but she used (and was       critiquing) Ham Test Online, what her husband had created.               The funny part was that when the VE's there asked what book she used,       and she said "There's a book?? I used Ham Test Online!!".               Her husband was grinning like the Cheshire cat that had just swallowed       the canary...and as the story noted "everyone in the room was gob       smacked". :)               Besides offering the money back guarantee, currently accredited       General and Advanced class VE's, who've done at least 4 sessions, can       sign up for their Extra Class course, a $35 value, for FREE!! It's the       same 2 years subscription, but for free.               Of course, the disclaimer of "see the website for details" applies on       the "Extra Class VE deal" and the "money back guarantee". To me, it was       the best money I ever spent in ham radio.              EV>Hope You can find better information at the Mayo Clinic web site.               I was trying to remember what that, and another website you mentioned       was, but I had (what I call) a "gray blond moment"...and could NOT       remember them. :P              EV>Really, I appreciate Ya'll getting as much snow as possible there so as       EV>to reduce the amount of snow that falls here, but I'd hate for You to       EV>miss the Russellville Hamfest.               Well, it's going to be a tossup, weatherwise. Another winter storm is       poised to hit the state Wednesday and Wednesday night...and the National       Weather Service offices in BOTH Little Rock and Memphis have ALREADY       issued a Winter Storm Watch...2 days out...which is unusual. Some data       is showing a corridor of heavy snow from central into east and northeast       Arkansas. The higher sun angle this time of year should help with       melting, but we'll have to wait and see. I postponed my neck MRI again,       which was set for Thursday...it's at least the third time I've had to       postpone it, and all due to weather.               It's not my driving I'm worried about, it's everyone else's. Plus, the       cellphone networks will be the first to fail once the winter       precipitation starts.              EV>I hope You get some info from the Mayo Clinic that is of help.       EV>Hope the info there is better than what You've heard earlier.               I hope so. But, if they can rule out things like paralysis or neck       surgery, the torturous pain will be a small price to pay.               On another note, I helped with another license exam session this past       Saturday. We only had 1 victim (errr...candidate (hi hi)), but he ACED       his Technician exam (and it did have schematics with it).              Daryl              ---        þ OLX 1.53 þ The wheel's spinning, but the hamster's dead.                                                                                                          --- Virtual Advanced Ver 2 for DOS         * Origin: The Thunderbolt BBS (1:19/33)    |
