    Howdy! Mike,

   -snip-
ML> For example, if your dialed number starts being understood as

    ML> Might have been 713-456-7889 for example, or I guess,perhaps a

ML> wrongly only the first ten digits to whop it.

All I know of the Cell Phones that I've touched is that the Cellular
Telephone Companies just want ten digits dialed, and they supply the
1 when they send the dialed number through the Telephone Lines that are
   connected to their system.

I suppose MajicJack works the same way other Cell Phone services do.
Ten digits is enuf to identify where the call is going to.

It asking You for a Area Code after it receives 10 numbers that You
asked it to call for you, is just its way to make sure that your local
call does go to a local area and not one of those 900+ other possible
   Area Codes.

Yes, I'm sure not all have been assigned yet, if they were my area
wouldn't be getting another Area Code from the Telephone Company.

If folks keep purchasing more Cell Phones for members in their families
it may happen that all of the Area Codes will be used up.

The Glut may happen sooner than Ma Bell expects. .... ..
