   probably the same thing that a cellphone does... use the areacode of the tower   
   it is connected to... that's why i was getting those calls for automotive work   
   on my cell phone... they wanted 229 areacode but were connected to a tower in   
   the 919 areacode so it rang my phone instead of the one they really wanted...
