   My favourite odd mouse repair was with Apple's so-called Mighty Mouse - a   
   white no-button mouse with a tiny ball for scrolling up/down/left/right...

   Often, the ball would become unreliable - the fix: turn the mouse upside down   
   over a piece of white paper and roll it around so that the ball is rubbing on   
   the paper.   
      
   This would clean out the lint (etc) that was trapped inside, restoring proper   
   functioning.
