       * Originally in: WindowsA              Howdy! Jean,              The last message I saw you write lately was in the WINDOWS echo,       so I'm going to post this there and in WIN95.              I just wanted to thank You for mentioning that you put programs that       you use often in the Quicklaunch section of the Taskbar because you       only had to give the icon One Click instead of a Double-Click to begin       the program you wanted to use.              Me, being amoung the lazy critters on this Earth, tried it and LOVED       seeing that it started what "I" was wanting to do with the computer a       lot easier than doing a Double-Click on a Desktop icon.              When I used the C=64 to read messages about Microsoft DOS and WINDOWS       using a Dial-up BBS back before I had a 486DX33 built for me in FEB'94,       I'd share what little I learned from the messages that I read with some       other people who hadn't learned of ALL the FREE INFORMATION that anyone       could get knowledge of by calling a BBS.              As I was at a persons house helping him install a new copy of       WINDOWS 3.0 on his Gateway 2000 386SX?? PC, I noticed that he avoided       Double-Clicking Desktop icons.              He would Click the icon ONCE and the press the ENTER KEY.       He said he started doing that because he had so much trouble getting a       program to start up because usually when he Double-Clicked an icon he       would move the icon instead of seeing the program start.              I tried helping him adjust the mouse setting in Win3.0 but we never       could find a setting that pleased him.              Sometimes I will do that "Single-Click - Enter" method after I mess up       the looks of the Desktop and then have to do the "Right-Click - select       option" method to get all back in alignment, and then do another       "Right-Click - select option" procedure to turn off the "Automatic"       setting I had to use to straighten out what I messed up, so I could       still be "in control" of my Desktop. |
