We do have it already, OS/2. I still use it as IBM created it but there
is a newer version available known as EcomStation (eCSt) that takes care
   of the hardware advancement.

The same kind of office, Web Browsers, communication programs etc are
available for OS/2. The Open Office program is public domain and free
   and is Windows compatible.

By design is OS/2 also protected against net attacks against its core.

And what I see as a very large advantage is its use of memory both RAM
and HD. My OS/2 operating system complete with GUI occupies 120 Mb on
the HD. Programs are also very compact compared to their Windows version
and files (letters, messages etc) are also very much smaller since they
   don't contain any meta data.
