Janis...              JK>Geez, is there any season of the year when you can relax? Doesn't sound lik       JK>from here :(               Unfortunately, no. We've had tornado outbreaks in all months of the       year...even in late fall, and during the winter...such as:              1) December 2 and 24, 1982 -- the sky was a dark green that day, with       sirens going off.              2) November, 1984 (Veterans Day Weekend)              3) January 21, 1999 - 56 tornadoes in 6 hours...two of them were F-4.       One of those just missed downtown Little Rock, and other of those hit       the Beebe High School (about an hour northeast of Little Rock). There       was a high school basketball game in progress that evening, but they       were monitoriing the Skywarn Spotter Reports from Little Rock and to the       southwest. They stopped the game at halftime, and evacuated the       premises. 30 minutes after everyone had left, the tornado flattened the       entire school complex.              4) Feb. 5, 2008 - The "Super Tuesday" tornado, with a 125 mile long EF-4       tornado on the ground...a record for the state.              5) March 1, 1997 - An F-4 tornado hit Arkadelphia (about 60 miles       southwest of Little Rock), and hit the College Station area, just       southeast of Little Rock National Airport.               If that wasn't bad enough, most of our tornadoes occur at NIGHT...and       during the overnight hours, when most people are asleep, and unaware of       the impending storms.              Daryl              ---        þ OLX 1.53 þ What do you mean, QWK??
