   Howdy! Daryl,

I am a Cheap LID of the Seventh Degree! as if You didn't know that.

EV>The SECOND reason was that my wife asked me to get rid of some of the
    EV>stuff that I had hoarded.

DS> Yeah, got to keep the XYL happy.

Yes Sir!, but I really haven't missed any of the stuff I stuffed in
   those three paper sacks (yet).
   Probably won't miss them ever.

EV>I had fun being on the other side of the table once.

DS> Sort of like when one visits ARRL HQ, and works W1AW...you

Hey!, those Hams who know who I am wouldn't be in that pile-up.

Especially after I tell the first contact who the operator at the Key
   is.

DS> On another note, it looks like that data radio may not arrive

   O.K., Thanks.
I suppose You would have to have a .JPG of my License before I could
use Packet Radio on Your BBS?

DS> And, speaking of hamfests, there are 2 hamfests in Arkansas
DS> in September...Mena and Little Rock.

DS> hamfest west of the Mississippi"...and it's practically one of
DS> the oldest ones...now 45 years running. I've never been to
DS> Mena, but many folks from the Arklatex region go each
DS> year...always the weekend after Labor Day Weekend.

DS> As for Little Rock, it's much smaller than it once was. While
DS> still billed as the All Arkansas Hamfest, it's only on Saturday
   -snip-

I haven't been to a local Hamfest in years, I may go to either the
Louisville Hamfest now held in Bullitt County, or at Bedford, IN this
   year.

DS> The Russellville hamfest is better, and I like to go to the
DS> nearby Whattaburger across from Arkansas Tech University
DS> afterwards...but there's usually a long wait to get served, as
DS> the place is so popular!! It first opened in 1967, and still
DS> does a land office business.

I will have to do a Search for Whattaburger to see what I am missing.
