BK>> DS> I have to wonder if the warnings of "zero day       BK>> DS> vulnerabilities to turn XP systems into zombi-bots" is       BK>> DS> just a "scare tactic" by Microsoft, to get people to       BK>> DS> throw away perfectly good working hardware and software,       BK>> DS> just to satisfy their corporate bank account.              BK>> I absolutely believe that to be true.               TW> And as less and less win XP systems are out there the        TW> "Glory" of doing that becomes less attractive. ALL the        TW> Glory for the hackers is in attacking the latest and        TW> greatest MicroSoft programs and Operating Systems.               From what I have read, about 25% of businesses are not switching        systems. The cost of changing is too high. Even more home owners        are keeping XP. Even if they buy a new computer they are likely        to keep an old one with XP. Buy a laptop with Win 7 or 8 but        keep the desktop with XP.               BTW, not too long ago I ran into a problem where plugging a        flash drive into my USB port got the system to try to install        it, then it asked to go online to get the software, then failed        to install.               This happened on three seperate systems. I reinstalled a back up        image and got all three working. I wonder if that was a Win        Update that caused that.               I have had programs that stopped working after SP 3 was        installed. I figured that was some error on MS part, now I'm        wondering if it is a mistake that his happened.                            BOB KLAHN bob.klahn@sev.org http://home.toltbbs.com/bobklahn              ...
