Matt...               MM@> What is your current computer?               My Mom has a Desktop, and I have 2 desktops and 2 laptops.               One of my laptops is AC Power only, since the battery failed, and       the computer so old, you can't get a battery for it. It has Windows       XP, Service Pack 3.               My Mom's Desktop, and my 2 desktops all have Windows XP, Service       Pack 3. One of my desktops is for the BBS...the other is for games,       such as Hoyle Games, and Microsoft Train Simulator.               The last laptop has Windows Vista Home Basic on it, but it is       slow. I bought it at a ham radio event last year for $100, to act       as a replacement for the laptop that is now "AC Only".               I ran a program I found on the internet, and was told the BIOS       in these would not support Virtual Mode of Windows XP under Windows       7. A fellow ham radio operator told me that "I may be better staying       with XP". I know of an agency that while they have Windows 7 on it,       they leave it in Virtual XP Mode all the time.               I have to wonder if the warnings of "zero day vulnerabilities to       turn XP systems into zombi-bots" is just a "scare tactic" by Microsoft,       to get people to throw away perfectly good working hardware and        software, just to satisfy their corporate bank account.               My Mom and I are both disabled, and on a fixed income. We're not       "rolling in dough" like these fat cat CEO's, etc. are.              Daryl              ...
