I'm not so sure about that. I see virtually no difference in performance
from Lion to Mountain Lion. To me ML is Apple's way of bringing OS X
closer in line with iOS. However, it was a no brainer upgrade costing
   only $19.99.

I agree with that assessment. Although I'm not particularly fond of
typing anything on my iPad 3, the virtual keyboard does work. The best
feature of the iPad 3 my son sent us is the ability to setup a hot spot
   to use for other devices.

We recently had an internet outage due to a Texas critter eating through
my outside cable. I had to wait 3 days for Verizon to show up and make
repairs. During that time the iPad 3 with its 4G capability
filled in nicely. But it did cost me an additional $30 for 2GB of data
from Verizon with their month to month plan.

The jury is still out on Windows 8 but I have a feeling that it's
heading in the same direction that Vista went. I'm going to stick with
Windows 7 for the foreseeable future.
