   Re: PC-DOS 7.x

In a message dated 08-05-12, Ed Vance said to Holger Granholm:

   GM Ed,

HG>But I do know since I have the complete PCTools deLuxe v6.0 complete
   HG>with manuals.

No paoer manual with PC-DOS 7 though.

EV>The CD has "Program Disc" & "25H7021" written on it, and a directory
EV>listing I printed out for the CD has a Volume Name of PCDOS70.

Well, my apartment is on the second floor of a 3-story building.
All my original program disks are stored in the basement of the house
but I can off-hand see tha date and time (24h) stamps on the installed
   programs.

EV>In the root is a PCDOS70 directory dated 02-13-95 3:26p and all the
EV>sub-directories under it have the same date, but all of the files
   EV>are dated 11-17-94 1:00p.

After checking the date/time stamps of the DOS programmes I seem to have
several different versions; most are dated jan. and nov. 1994 But some
june 1st 1998. The latter are probably the Y2K upgrade. Time stamps vary
between 07:00 and 13:00 with some at 06:30.

EV>My directory print out says 503 files 23556338 bytes are on the CD,
EV>is that close to what yours says?

You can't get me down into the basement just to check that ;(

HG>Well, if PC-DOS v.7 cost me something I probably have a receipt for it
HG>because I have saved all receipts for programmes and shareware that I
   HG>have bought/registered.

OTOH it could just have been a free upgrade to the version I was
   running.
