   You define all this when you set up the VM itself. Mine is 4GB RAM plus a   
   120GB virtual "drive" on the Win 7 C: drive. O/S is mostly in RAM tho it will   
   page to disk and back if it runs out ...

   I would think an older laptop would NOT be suitable for a VM configuration   
   (you also need a Host O/S ...) but Linux in RAM is another story (dunno,
