I have seen DL DVD's at the stores and never thought to look at the
specs for the Optical Drive HP put in this XP box to see if I could
   use them.

I used my flashlight to look at the stickers on the front panel and it
says Double Layer 16X in the description for the optical Drive.

Now all I have to do is to see if DL DVD's are with-in my price range.

Thank to You and everyone else who responded to my question about DVD
   use.

Today I learned something that I've overlooked.

I remember reading many years ago (Probably before DVD's were sold)
about someone writing that many different colored layers could be put
on a disc (4 or more iirc), and the disc could write data to each of
the colored layers on one disc.

This is maybe how DL DVD's are made??????
   Don't know just speckalating.
