   Apple's original 'Superdrive' - combo CD/DVD read/write drive worked with   
   DVD-R only.... that was also true of some early models sold for PC use.   
      
   Now all drives work with both types of discs (along with higher capacity 7 GB   
   discs and more) so I don't think it matters much.
