   Re: Weather etc.

In a message on Thursday 10-12-15 Paul Quinn said to Holger Granholm:

   Good evening Paul,

HG> A chilly weather report from here.

PQ> You probably deserve it. ;)

Well, I'm not THAT hot anymore .

PQ> The 'carnival' is a four day event, starting on the Thursday with
PQ> the main race on the Sunday. The topical greeting for the Sunday is
PQ> now "Happy Bathurst Day"! :)

No wonder then that Woodstock is displayed here and there!

PQ> There was four hours of continuous coverage on Saturday, and six
PQ> hours Sunday. It was a different TV network covering the event(s)
PQ> this year. The previous network used to have near 12 hours

Actually, I was glad that I saw the last two hours on sunday morning,
because then I could cut off the HiLites after 126 laps of the race.

PQ> Some fans were camped on Mount Panorama for the prior week. In
PQ> fact, one group have been camping on the same area over the last
   PQ> 30-odd years.

I can understand that. The Mt. Panorama is a beautiful surround for the
race track. After having looked at a bike race (w.pedals) in Dubai,
earlier where both highs and lows had the colour of desert sand and only
the paved road was black, I did really enjoy the race settings.

Of course the grass was brownish here and there but the same happens
   here after a long draught.

PQ> I only j-u-s-t caught the race start due to the time difference, and
PQ> their stupid DST. Also, I have a rewind & FF capability with a
PQ> media box, so I don't miss much. ;) I missed the finish but caught
PQ> up on the nightly news.

After all, I was quite happy with seeing the last 2 hrs right after my
morning meal and the first 6 hrs in the late evening HiLites. I'm not
like my GS in that he doesn't want to know the result before looking at
   the recording.

When he rang me from Stockholm on tueday evening, he started by saying
that he didn't want to know the results of the F1 race in Sotchi (Rus),
because he hadn't had time yet to look at the recording.

HG> How is the spring/summer coming on down there?

PQ> Hot. Wet & stormy some days. We've had summertime conditions since
   PQ> mid-to-late September. Roughly 14-28C daily.

I can just barely stand about 22-23C if there is some wind around that
can bring in some sea brize.

PQ> My youngest daughter's town has maximums of 36C+ and their long-term
   PQ> drought continues.

   That's too hot for me.

    HG> Have a nice afternoon,

   The theme of today is:

   Have a nice afternoon,

   Holger
