In a message dated 09-05-15, Roger Nelson said to Holger Granholm:

   Good evening Roger,

HG> Yesterday we had rain from morning to night and even today is
    HG> murky.

   Same again yesterday (sunday).

RN> Wow! I'm glad I wasn't with you. Years ago, I would have liked
RN> that. (-: Did you return the same way?

Actually, in the winter the ice became so thick that even the
icebreaking ferries weren't able to drop in to land Islands.

At that time I used to travel to Stockholm monthly to bring home records
and radio equipment/parts for my shop. I went as usual on a trip there a
morning in feb. 1966. On my return back to the ferry I made a phone call
to the harbour, north of Stockholm, and received the reply that the
ferry would leave the next day from a harbour south of Stockholm.

I turned the car around and went to the city Nynshamn from where the
return journey started. The ferry wasn't able to break the ice to the
harbour on land so I had to go along to the sw. coast of Finland from
where I had to drive north to reach the place where the ice road to
land started. After a coffee break on one of the islands i finally
arrived back at home. That trip took me three days instead of one!

My white skirt wasn't white anymore .

RN> I've seen cloud-to-cloud lightning, but never saw any that travelled
RN> upward. Downward, yes, but never upward. Below is the article:

RN> witnessed exotic forms of lightning that reach up from
   RN> thunderclouds near
RN> Earth's surface all the way to the edge of space. Their
