Blindlingly fast compared to my 4.77MHz. With the RAM I had, I was barely
able to run a BBS back in 1985 and at that time, I had a 300 baud modem, and
downloading software software at that speed wasn't the only problem. One had
to place "=X" after the filename one was getting or the download you received
wasn't exactly what you expected. I think I called my local BBS Roger's Room,
but I was also busy being the co-SysOp of the Computerland BBS here while they
were still in business. For my BBS, I used RBBS.

I didn't want to get on the Internet at first, but it soon became a peer
thing, which led to me being convinced to join a social media network (UGH!)
   by my favorite concert pianist.

Maybe, maybe not, but based on my experience with W10, I'd advise against
getting it at this time. It broke a couple of programs I used daily and being
a new OS, I don't know how long I would have to wait for an upgrade or fix for
them. I wrote an article about it which should appear in our version of the
Snooze tomorrow, and which you may find helpful.

HG> It won't be free of course if I have to buy a modern machine
    HG> though.

And if you have to buy W10, the Home version is $119.99 and the Pro version is
   $199.99. I don't like psychological pricing.

    HG> CU L8ER,

   Hopefully. (-:

   Regards,
